Measure height at the lowest point of the opening, not inside the boot: that is where crates catch.
Thule describes every Allax size as having rounded edges, so it can tuck under rear seats that slope into the boot better than a square box of the same size. Thule's own fit assistant on its product page checks specific car models.
Thule rates the Allax XXL for dogs up to 70 cm (27.55 in) at the shoulder (withers).
